Drape Forming Oven

At ASH Plastics Ltd we use thermoforming techniques such as drape forming and dome blowing, and part of the process is the heating up of materials to a temperature that makes them soft and pliable.

To achieve that we use a large industrial oven. It can accept sheets of plastic that are up to 3m x 2m in size but usually it is used to heat only the material required for a specific job. A piece of acrylic, or another thermoplastic, will be pre-cut or shaped and then heated before being applied to a drape mold to cool. Once cooled the item is ready to be used immediately.

The temperature of the oven can be carefully controlled to ensure the perfect level of heating is applied to the materials. It is an incredibly simple and effective way to deliver high quality results in our manufacturing process.
