Machine Guards

Safety is vitally important when considering the design and manufacturing of machine guards and covers. They are needed it any one of a range of hundreds of different industrial settings and processes.

They may be needed to protect the operators of machinery such as lathes and power drills, or to stop debris from being shed when processes such as welding and cutting are taking place, or to protect employees from hazards such as blades, rotating parts or avoiding finger and hand injuries from pinch points on machinery. Health & safety regulations will always call for the installation of guards and safety covers in situations such as those, making it a legal requirement to ensure the safety of your staff when operating dangerous equipment.

Machine guards can be used where a material is being cut, shaped, formed or bored, and where power transmission occurs such as a pulley, belt, spindle or chain.

At A.S.H Plastics we manufacture these guards in-house from acrylic which is lightweight but very tough making it ideal for such an application. Acrylic material is durable, and once the covers are installed it is difficult to tamper with or remove them. This is very important with safety covers to help maintain health & safety of operators.
